This 310 km2 national park has the privilege of being one of the core areas of the Charlevoix World Biosphere Reserve, a status granted to the region by UNESCO. Today, this island of Quebec's Great North is still frequented by fishermen, but also by hikers, campers and vacationers who appreciate the enchanting scenery that this exceptional national park offers. An exceptional ecosystem: On this same territory, you will find a deciduous forest, an alpine vegetation passing by the taiga. This arctic vegetation shelters a representative fauna of the northern regions in particular the moose, the bear, the wolf, the caribou and the lynx. You will be able to go on panoramic hikes. From the top of its 980 m of altitude, the mount of the Lac-des-Cygnes will impress you by its aggressive relief as well as by the diversity of fauna and flora which is presented there. Furthermore, in the heart of the Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve, the Grands-Jardins National Park offers chalets, shelters, Huttopia tents and forest campsites for rent! Winter camping is permitted at the Pied-des-Monts campground (400 m from the snowshoe parking lot) and Étang Malbaie (3.5 km from the Galette parking lot for snowshoeing or Nordic skiing). Water or mountain views, accessible by car or on foot, sunny or shady, there are sites for everyone! There are approximately 50 campsites without services (sanitary block) for tents and RVs at Pied-des-Monts and Arthabaska campgrounds and 28 rustic campsites at La Roche and Étang Malbaie campgrounds. The Huttopia ready-to-camp formula is ideal for camping without having to bring all the equipment: there are 23 units at the Pied-des-Monts and Arthabaska campgrounds.
